Payments Analyst

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Payments Analyst to join our e-commerce team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the e-commerce industry and eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment.

As a Payments Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the payments operations, including traditional and alternative transactions, within our e-commerce platform. This position requires shift work and 24/7 support coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the payments function, including monitoring transactions, reconciling accounts, and resolving payment-related issues for both traditional and alternative payments.

• Monitor payment gateways and systems to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot any technical issues or errors.

• Conduct routine analysis of payment data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization in both traditional and alternative payment channels.

• Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, customer service, and development, to address payment-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist in the implementation of fraud prevention measures and risk management strategies to safeguard against payment fraud and chargebacks.

• Stay informed about industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices related to payments and security.

• Prepare and maintain documentation of payment processes, policies, and procedures for reference and training purposes.

• Provide support for ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to payments optimization, process improvement, and system enhancements.

• Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of payment operations and enhancing the customer payment experience.

• Collaborate with external payment service providers and financial institutions to optimize payment processing and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Collegiate studies or Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration an asset, or 5 years of work experience in a finance or payments-related role.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data to draw meaningful insights, including experience analyzing transaction data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools is a plus.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing financial transactions and reconciliations.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to new processes and technologies, and take initiative in problem-solving.

• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, and online payment processing is desirable.

• Enthusiasm for the e-commerce industry and a desire to build a career in payments and financial operations.

Part-Time HR Administrator (1-Year Contract – Maternity Leave Coverage)

Location: Montreal QC

Type: Part-Time (Approximately 8-15 hours/week)

Contract Duration: 1 Year

Start: May 26, 2025

Job Summary

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and friendly Part-Time HR Administrator to join our team on a one-year contract, covering a maternity leave. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys keeping things organized, values confidentiality, and wants to support a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day HR operations and administrative tasks

• Maintain employee records and update internal databases such as vacation, health and benefits, RRSP contributions, etc. 
Assisting with minimal accounting task (accounts payables).

• Support recruitment efforts (e.g., posting jobs, scheduling interviews)

• Help coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes
Booking travel + accommodations

• Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism and discretion

• Support staff in Ontario, light travel to Ottawa required

• Coordinate team building activities, along with holiday dinners and parties

• Handle general office duties, including ordering supplies and keeping the office space organized


Qualifications

• Prior experience in HR and office administration


• Bilingual (English, French)

• Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Mac, Microsoft office, Outlook

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Friendly, proactive, and dependable attitude
